Ni Sa Bula Vinaka, Welcome to Leigh Fijian
A Congregation of Parramatta Mission
WORSHIP DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC (March 2020)
SUSPENSION OF WORSHIP SERVICES/ GATHERINGS
The Synod (NSW/ACT) of the Uniting Church in Australia issued a landmark recommendation on Wednesday 18 March regarding the cessation of all gatherings, including worship services, due to the spread of COVID-19. The congregations of Parramatta Mission are complying with this recommendation in the interests of public health and safety – and due to our strong investment as a denomination in upholding the “common good.”

Fijian Ceremonial Acknowledgement to Traditional Owners
The visitors from across the wasa bula-Oceania
entered, sat down, cupped their hands and clapped.
Eyes lowered, they presented their gifts.
the Great Chief stirred –
Finger raised, eyes narrowed and spoke:
“If you come into our land
And tell a lie
You do not respect us.”
To the Burramattagal people of the Darug nation
tradition owners of this land,
To those who loved and cared for this land
from time immemorial, the Indigenous peoples,
We honour your traditional ownership of this land,
the land on which we live today, and we offer you our respect.
