We have people in our congregation from diverse cultural and language backgrounds and across the ages. We have strong connections with the Mayflower Aged Care residential Care (Nursing Home and Hostel) and 3 Independent Living Villages. We also have a growing number of people coming with different abilities which we seek to include in many ways. And we have someone from every decade within our congregation.
We take seriously our desire to be inclusive of people – and offer great hospitality. We believe that God has called us to be people who offer hospitality to other people in the name of Jesus Christ- which means we are called to act with respect, to treat people with dignity, to be people of faith and to offer hope to others in the name of Christ.
Rev Christine Bayliss Kelly
Rev Christine Bayliss Kelly is the Minister of the Congregation. Christine has served in a Rural Parish where she led 4 congregations, a large urban Congregation and for 10 years was a resource minister for the Uniting Church across Western Sydney. During this time she worked with many people from many backgrounds so really understands where people are coming from.
Rev Christine nursed for 10 years before becoming a Minister so is well placed to understand the medical situations many people encounter in the Westmead Precinct. She lived and worked overseas for 3 years. She has other experiences and training which equip her well for being in this busy place where the congregation seeks to be involved in the wider community.
There are a number of Leaders who work with Rev Christine and run the different activities of the congregation as well as provide good leadership for the congregation.
